Please join us for AirLife Denver’s 2008 EMS Conference:
"Treating Cowboy's of All Ages”.
The FREE AirLife EMS Conference was started in 2002, with the goal of bringing the highest quality continuing education at no cost to those EMS personnel who offer their services every day in support their community. It is hosted each time by a local fire service, and we are very grateful to each of those departments who over the years have graciously welcomed us into their communities. This year the conference will be hosted by Fort Lupton Fire Department.
Keynote Speaker:
As our keynote speaker this year, we welcome Dr. Jonathan Marinaro, Emergency and Critical Care physician at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Marinaro received his MD degree from the University of Colorado in 2000 and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine here at the University of New Mexico in 2003. He completed his Fellowship in Trauma/Critical Care at the Maryland Shock Trauma Institute in 2005. He is board certified in emergency
medicine.
Conference Highlights:
Our topics this year focus on injuries and illnesses specific to rural EMS including farm and rodeo injuries, organophosphate and other fertilizer poisonings, and treatment of CHF in the field. In addition, Karen Zimmerman, a Perinatal Nurse Practitioner, will present challenging case studies involving the pregnant patient in EMS. Breakout sessions will feature ALECS (AirLife Emergency Care Simulator) and his friends--a simulator workshop including infant and pediatric simulators. The day will finish with the always popular Case Reviews presented by the AirLife Flight Team and moderated by Dr. Mark Maertins.
